Leader in Training Program staff

  The BGC East Scarborough is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual who is committed to the principles and practices of the Club. We are currently recruiting for a highly skilled and dynamic individual to join our team of multi-disciplinary staff with a real opportunity to make a difference in the community. The Program Staff shall be responsible for the planning, facilitation, documentation and evaluation of interactive programs for children and youth on relevant themes geared towards youth development. Through development of self-expression, communication and interpersonal skills while learning the true value of self-identity/self-worth. Program staff assists and encourage participants to advocate for themselves, peers, and members of the community. He/She is accountable to the Sr Manager of Youth and Community Outreach Services. Major responsibilities include but not limited to:

Program Development 

 Work in consultation with the manager to design and implement age appropriate curriculum along with recreational and social activities for youth participants. 

 Facilitate daily themed workshops (virtually or in- person) 

 To assist youth develop a healthy attitude and acceptance toward fellow participants by encouraging cooperation and good citizenship. 

 Work in collaboration with program manager, youth staff to develop and implement a marketing plan for program recruitment. 

 To help the children develop a positive self-image by offering them encouragement, recognition, and guidance .

 Assist in the organization/coordination of any special events, outings-trips, etc. 

Other program related duties as assigned

Risk Management 

 Ensuring the safety and supervision of participants at all times by strictly following guidelines and procedures .

 Document all program incidents, complaints, and accidents; Submit reports to the manager for review . 

Maintaining supplies, program equipment and facility .

 Adhere to and enforce Personal Protective Equipment use in program spaces 

 Clean and sanitize surfaces and program equipment as needed according to our Covid-19 response measures outlined/sanctioned by Toronto Public Health 

Administration 

 Maintaining daily participant attendance records 

 Conduct individual assessments and provide feedback to both youth and parents/guardians  Conduct program evaluations and update the manager on program progress .

 Document, track, and produce monthly statistical and qualitative reports .

 Maintaining daily, weekly and goal action plans detailing program developments and outcomes  Attend all staff orientation, training and scheduled  

Successful Candidates will have: 

 Individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, with creative program planning skills 

 Genuine interest in working with 12-14 years old and ability to develop and deliver activities .

 Strong leadership skills, time management, and child/youth management skills 

 Experience working or volunteering with children and/or youth.

High Five and current CPR/First Aid Certification (or Committing to receiving certification by the beginning of program) . Valid Ontario driver’s license/or F class would be an asset .

 Legally eligible to work in Canada

Must Have

  • Bachelor Degree or Higher
  • Passion for software products
  • Perfect written English

  • Strong analytical skills
